Pads Up Tackle Football Program

Your first season in pads starts here.

A youth football program built on long term development. Players learn every position and the real fundamentals of the game, then apply them in true game situations. We keep it safe, we keep it fun, and we help standout athletes earn their next step.

Our approach

Develop the athlete first. The wins follow.

We believe in long term development over short term wins. Every rep is about technique, effort, and consistency. We teach every position, and we teach that football is fun.

Core belief

Every rep counts

Technique, effort, and consistency on every rep. We teach all positions and we do not coach to the scoreboard. Kids learn to love the game.

Our objective

Earn your matchup

A controlled, productive environment that builds teamwork, discipline, dedication, and sportsmanship. Standout athletes earn elevated training and showcase events through technique and toughness.

Elite mentality

Coach the whole athlete

We coach the mind and body of athletes, parents, and coaches together. The goal is a real understanding of the game, strong sportsmanship, and life lessons that last.

The Pads Up pathway

One program. A clear path forward.

Every athlete starts in the same place and moves up as they earn it. No shortcuts, just growth.

Step 01

Developmental League

The starting point for everyone. Players learn the fundamentals and the concepts of football in a setting built for growth, not scorekeeping.

Step 02

Competitive League

Through evaluations, players earn a spot on competitive groups. Selection is based on technique, football knowledge, and the ability to play multiple positions.

Step 03

Showcase & Advanced Camps

In program showcase games identify and develop top performers. Advanced camps led by veteran coaches sharpen skills and scout talent.

Optional head start

New to tackle? Start at camp.

Camp is not required, but we recommend it for first time tackle players. It is a focused jump start on wearing pads and learning the fundamentals before the season begins.

01

Gearing Up

How to fit a helmet and shoulder pads, what each piece does, and how to move with confidence in full equipment.

02

Safe Contact

Heads up tackling and blocking. Players learn proper form first, with controlled contact that builds confidence.

03

Stance & Footwork

Three point stance, first step, and the agility every position relies on. The footwork that makes everything click.

04

Reading the Game

Positions, basic rules, and where each player fits. Kids leave knowing their job on every play.

The fall season

The season is where it all comes together.

Players acclimatize to practice, build up to full pads, and learn every position. Fundamentals come first, then they apply them in real game situations.

How practice works

Players acclimatize to practice and build up to full pads. After the first break, 5th and 6th grade competitive groups split into team practices for about 30 to 40 minutes. Kindergarten through 4th grade, along with less experienced 5th and 6th graders, keep building skills and football knowledge.

How games work

Developmental games are weekend scrimmages that begin in early fall, with dates announced mid summer. Kindergarten through 4th grade typically scrimmage about four weeks after practice begins. Competitive teams are built from high performers and need full knowledge of the game across multiple positions. Competitive game dates come in August.

Athletes will
  • Wear full padding
  • Learn the proper fundamentals of the game
  • Be supervised by trained instructors

Safety first

Contact is earned, one stage at a time.

Players move through a clear contact progression. Each stage is taught with proper technique before the next one begins.

01

Form Tackle

Proper technique taught with heads up coaching. Form comes before any live contact.

02

Line of Scrimmage Blocking

Blocking technique with proper use of hands at the line of scrimmage.

03

Downfield Blocking

Blocking in space with the focus on staying up and staying safe.

Coaching ratios

About one coach for every eight athletes ages 5 to 9, and one for every ten ages 10 to 14, all led by trained instructors.

Hydration & heat

Water breaks follow heat index guidelines so practices stay safe in the heat.

Why we do this

We develop athletes in a safe and productive environment that teaches the principles of teamwork, discipline, dedication, and sportsmanship.

We track growth with Pads Up checklists and combine metrics through the season. Athletes ages 11 to 14 set individual development plans with real targets like shuttle time, jump distance, and wrap up scores. Families take part too, through a preseason orientation, a yearly Fundamentals Day with drill demos and combine practice, and volunteer roles in timekeeping, measurement, and equipment.
